Local leaders share their knowledge regarding farmworker advocacy and support. This online event was hosted on January 22, 2021, by Community Foundation Santa Cruz County.
Our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful volunteers who made the Oct. 2nd Farmworker Caravan event a success!
Our gratitude to Darlene Tenes and the Farmworker Caravan for collecting thousands of food, emergency supplies and household items for farmworkers the local communities. A caravan of 50 cars, filled with donated goods, were driven by volunteers from San Jose to Hollister, CA.
The caravan was met by volunteers and staff from the Catholic Charities, Sacred Heart Church, Sacred Heart School and Diocese of Monterey. Volunteers packaged the donated items and distributed them to over 550 farmworkers and their families. The farmworkers were grateful for donations, but more importantly, for the people who cared about them.
