Our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful volunteers who made the Oct. 2nd Farmworker Caravan event a success!

Our gratitude to Darlene Tenes and her volunteers from Farmworker Caravan, a grassroots effort in San Jose, for collecting thousands of donated items – food, emergency supplies and household items – for farmworkers and their families in the local communities.  A caravan of 50 cars, filled with donated goods, were driven by volunteers from San Jose to Hollister, CA

The caravan was met by volunteers and staff from the Catholic Charities, Sacred Heart ChurchSacred Heart School and Diocese of Monterey.  Volunteers then sorted and packaged the donated items and distributed them to over 550 farmworkers and their families.  The farmworkers were grateful for donations, but more importantly, for the people who cared about them.
